Do what is right by your children both inside and outside of the courtroom.
Doing what is right by your children is your ultimate responsibility as a parent. It is your job to give them the best possible future they can have. During a divorce this can become quite difficult to achieve especially when both parents believe that they should be the ones to have custody of their children.
Sometimes parents will fight for custody even though one parent is obviously better suited for the role. Each parent needs to focus on the best interests of their children and not on their own personal agenda. By focusing on getting the best possible settlement result for your children you can give your children the best opportunity for a great future.
Generally, the court will rule in favour of the parent who can offer their children the most consistency, stability and reliability. Children need consistency when growing up.
Dr. Ira Turkat is an expert on these matters and suggests in his writing that by focusing on doing what is right for your children both inside the courtroom and outside the courtroom you’re going to ensure that your children will get the best you can give them.
Child custody battles can be difficult for both parents and children but it is important to do your very best in order to achieve the stability the children need.
